This week, the famous King’s Casino in the picturesque Czech village of Rozvadov is hosting the popular German Poker Days with an exciting €200,000 GTD Main Event and plenty of side tournaments. On Thursday, players can qualify for the big tournament in a satellite with a buy-in of just €35.

The Main Event kicks off today with a guaranteed prize pool of €200,000 and it is expected to attract hundreds of poker enthusiasts and pros to King’s Casino. Home to the largest poker room in Europe, the casino has welcomed multiple events from the largest poker series, including WSOP, WPT, and PokerStars. Sitting on the border with Germany, the small village of Rozvadov has also become very popular with German players and especially for them, the casino hosts the German Poker Days Festival several times a year.

The current festival started Monday, August 27, and will run through Sunday, September 2, offering poker fans plenty of opportunities to win some cash. Along with the Main Event, players can enjoy the €115 King’s Hold’em Championship with €20,000 guarantee on Saturday and the €330 NLH High Roller event on Sunday. There are several other events with smaller buy-ins so that there is something for everyone in the schedule.

Those who wish to take part in the German Poker Days Main Event can either buy into it directly (€175 entry) or try to win one of the 10 seats during the €35 buy-in Satellite, which starts at 4.00 p.m. local time on Thursday. Players receive a starting stack of 5,000 and play 24 levels of 15 minutes each. There are two additional satellites to Day 1b and Day 1c on Friday and Saturday and the structure is identical.

Day 1a of the Main Event kicks off today at 6.00 p.m. and players have the opportunity to re-enter twice. The levels here last 30 minutes and the starting stack is 50,000 chips. The structure of the four starting flights is the same and those who qualify for the second, Final Day of the event will return to the tables on Sunday. The initial stacks will be determined by the final chip count at the end of each starting flight and the 30-minute levels will be played until only one player survives.

Three Champions Already Crowned at German Poker Days

For the third time this year, King’s Casino hosts the German Poker Days and there are already three champions crowned as the festival started on Monday. The first three events did not gather a lot of participants – all regulars are expected to appear at the Main Event. The opening event was the €50 Big Stack Turbo and with its guarantee of only €3,000, it attracted 58 entries, pushing the total prize pool to €3,377. German player Ilias Alkhechen won the event, taking home €1,013.

On Tuesday, 45 entries and 8 re-entries contributed to the total prize pool of €3,325 at the €60 No-Limit Hold’em Mega Stack Turbo event. Ming-Rong Zheng from the Netherlands defeated the field, grabbing the title and the first-place prize of €1,131. The next event, the €80 King’s THNL 6-Max was played on Wednesday when young German player Denis Lippitz agreed to a heads-up deal with Macedonia’s Aleksandar Trajkovski. The official champion was Lippitz and he won €1,272, while the runner-up received €1,271 after the deal.
