Astral is the name of a 34-story, 620-room hotel-casino drawn up by Israeli hotelier Asher Gabay, who acquired the Motel 8 property on Las Vegas Boulevard last year. He plans to break ground in 2020 and open in 2020.

AREA 15
Construction is officially underway at the soon-to-be site of AREA 15. The project promises to be a retail, art and entertainment complex on 40 acres of land near Sirius Avenue and Rancho Drive. The space offers up to 126,000 square feet of customized tenant space for a specialty collection of experiential and retail businesses, 68,000 square feet of leasable ground floor space, 58,000 square feet of mezzanine space and a 40,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor event space. The project was announced in January 2018 and is expected to be complete by the end of 2019. READ MORE

Caesars Forum
Caesars Forum will feature 300,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and the two largest ballrooms in the world. It will also offer a 100,000-square-foot outdoor meeting and event space. It is scheduled to open in 2020.

Circa hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas
Casino owners Derek and Greg Stevens announced their new hotel-casino project in downtown Las Vegas in January 2019. Circa will be the first brand-new resort built from the ground up in downtown since 1980 and promises to offer 777 rooms, a range of restaurants, an outdoor bar, and a two-level casino. Slated to open December 2020.

Downtown Grand
The Downtown Grand is adding a third tower in 2020. The new tower will add nearly 500 rooms.

The Drew
In February 2018, the unfinished Fontainebleau hotel got a new name -- The Drew. The hotel, which will be located at 2755 S. Las Vegas Blvd., is scheduled to open in 2022. READ MORE.

Kind Heaven
Kind Heaven is a $100 million attraction scheduled to open in 2020 at The LINQ Promenande. The goal of the attraction is to make guests feel like they are in Southeast Asia. There will be 3 nightclubs and an Asian night market. There are rumors that the project has been delayed but that has not been confirmed.

Las Vegas Convention enter expansion
The Riviera implosion in 2016 led the way for the expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Construction began in January 2018 on the project, which is expected to be complete by early 2021. READ MORE

Majestic Las Vegas is a resort that will focus on well being and not gambling. The $850 million resort will be located across from the new Las Vegas Convention Center. Groundbreaking has been announced for May 2020, opening in 2023.

MSG Sphere
A futuristic venue is scheduled to open in late 2020 on Sands Avenue between Manhattan Street and Koval Lane. A pedestrian bridge will connect the new venue to The Venetian and The Palazzo complex. In December 2018, Clark County commissioners approved a new monorail station at the MSG Sphere. READ MORE

Resorts World was set to open in 2016 but had its opening date pushed back to 2020. The resort, which would cater to Chinese tourism, will be located at 3000 S. Las Vegas Boulevard. Construction is coming along, however Wynn Resorts filed a federal trademark infringement lawsuit in December 2018 that claims the property under construction is similar to the Wynn and Encore casino-resorts on the Strip. In January 2019, developers responded by saying Resorts World currently consists of a skeletal structure with some window paneling, but upon completion, it will look 'dramatically different' from Wynn's properties. The Clark County Commission approved a land use permit in September 2017 for an extreme sports and water park, tentatively named Vegas Extreme, to be built near Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road. It would also include a 15-story hotel. It is unknown when the park would open. As of April 2019, there's no indication this is happening.

Virgin Hotel
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will transform into the Virgin hotel after the property was bought by billionaire businessman Richard Branson. The work has been pushed back. Work will begin after the Super Bowl in 2020.
